ATTRACTIONS OF NAIROBI



Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya. Nairobi is the 14th largest city in Africa. Nairobi has a rich history and tribal culture which bought life into its museums. For adventure seeker this country has a lot to see, even in such hustle and bustle its wildlife is a huge draw. Many places are attraction for tourists in Nairobi. Nairobi is famous for its safari trips.


NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK:

Nairobi National Park is a heaven for wildlife. It is the first National Park in Kenya. The park has a rhino sanctuary, which protects more than 50 of these endangered animals. Other than rhino, lions, gazelles, buffaloes, warthogs, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes and ostriches are part of Nairobi National Park. More than 400 species of birds are present in wetlands. The park is also famous from its ivory burning site.

KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM:

At the foot of the Ngong hills, Karen Blixen Museum is one of Nairobi’s top tourist attractions. Karen Blixen is an African author also known as Isak Dinesen, lived in the house from 1917-1931. She runs a coffee plant. Tourist visit the kitchen in a separate building coffee drying plant, well preserved colonial farmhouse and Agriculture College on ground. Display items belong to Mr. and Mrs.  Blixen is furniture, photographs and books.

GIRAFFE CENTRE:

Visitors can visit the endangered Roth’s child’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, which is on the edge of Nairobi National Park. Visitor can spend time with these graceful creatures feed them at eye level. This activity is very famous among children. Besides these long lash beauties, you can enjoy a 1.5km forest walk.

NAIROBI NATIONAL MUSEUM:

For educational trip National Museum of Nairobi is famous. The museum panoply distinct culture and history which includes more than 900 stuffed birds and mammals, ethnic displays from various tribal group of Kenya, fossils from lake Turkana and local art. If you have any interest in Geology, you must have to visit Geology Gallery where you can explore impressive collection of rocks and minerals, tectonic plates and learn the life cycle of a volcano.

BOMAS OF KENYA:

Kenya is rich in art, craft and museum. Bomas of Kenya is a living museum of Kenya which celebrated by the colorful tribes of Kenya. Tribes have their own culture. Visitors can learn here about the art, lifestyle, craft and music of each tribe. Every day in afternoon, a team performs a tradition dances and song in a big theater.

KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE:

The center, named after the first Republic President, Jamo Kenyatta. KICC is an international venue for meeting, conferences and exhibitions. Tourist can visit 28 story centers and can zoom up to the roof top platform and enjoy the charismatic views of Nairobi. You can also enjoy a meal at restaurants.

RAILWAY MUSEUM:

Railway Museum shows the rich history of railroad in Kenya. Museum has the fascinating collection of train and ship models, railway magazines, drawing and maps and photographs from the original construction of the Uganda Railway

N-GONG  HILLS:



One of the eye-catching places in Nairobi is N gong Hills. N gong means “Knuckles”. Beautiful green hills overlook the Great Rift Valley. Below this valley, several walking trails offer beautiful view. Wildlife is also discernible in area.
